The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival is gearing up to celebrate two decades as a cornerstone of the Lower Mainland’s cultural scene, showcasing daring and innovative works across dance, theatre, multimedia, and music. Featuring more than 25 presentations, including world premieres, Canadian debuts, cabaret events, and film screenings, 2025’s lineup highlights diversity, bold storytelling, and transformative collaborations from artists across 13 countries.

“The 2025 PuSh Festival is a celebration of audacious live art. These are performances and immersive experiences that shift our paradigms for creative expression and how we relate to one another,” says PuSh’s director of programming, Gabrielle Martin, in a release. “In a world increasingly dominated by generative AI, they underscore live performance as a sanctuary of authenticity in an age that risks losing touch with the real. They invite us into the wilds of untethered imaginations and the liberatory spaces of play.”

Highlights include Bogotá by Andrea Peña and Artists, exploring resilience through Colombia’s political and spiritual heritage; and Dimanche by Belgium’s Focus and Chaliwaté, a striking portrayal of humanity amid ecological collapse. Events like Van Vogue Jam’s Dune Wars Kiki Ball and the Frank Theatre’s QT Cabaret promise evenings of expression.

The PuSh Youth Program will continue to create access for young artists through discounted tickets and engagement opportunities. At the same time, the new Elevate Program will nurture emerging racialized artists with mentorship and workshops, culminating in a showcase event later in the year. This year also introduces the Industry Series Hub, fostering dialogue and connections among arts leaders in a late-night setting.
