Cedar shingle grade options
SBC is proud to provide shingles graded on both sides, an exclusive feature that allows installers to choose the best side without compromising on quality. White cedar shingles are sorted based on visible imperfections, with two grades available for exterior siding: Sidewall Select 'AB' and 2nd Clear 'C'.

Sidewall Select «AB»

Introduced by SBC in 2016, the Sidewall Select grade combines Extra 'A' and Clear 'B' grades and is designed for wall installations. Sidewall Select shingles are wider for faster installation and a better look. They are knot-free on the exposed surface (up to 6'' from the butt*).

For a more rustic look, grade 2nd Clear "C" is an economical choice. The visible knots in the wood give the shingle a unique character that is perfect for siding a cottage, shed or out building.
