Reforestation Sponsorship

Funding Need: $5,000

Your reforestation sponsorship will allow us to improve habitat continuity in this important region through the purchase and restoration of private lands. With your support, we will be able to establish a biological corridor that connects the fragmented patches of Community Forest in Nepal with the protected areas in India.

A $5,000 sponsorship will plant seedlings in one hectare of degraded habitat and construct a fence around the planting site using GI wire and bamboo mesh fencing. The GI wire fence will prevent the local livestock from entering the restoration site, while a bamboo mesh fence will be installed on the forest side, which will not affect wildlife movement to and from the adjacent Community Forest.

Biodiversity Conservation Workshop

Funding Need: $15,381

Education for Rural & Municipality Council

Funding Need: $14,811

Elected members of the Rural and Municipality Council are responsible for managing natural resources, however they are often unaware of environmental issues. Reforestation Sponsorship

Funding Need: $3,500; $1,600; $1,000

A $3,200 sponsorship supports the planting and nurturing young trees for three consecutive years in one hectare of degraded habitat. This sponsorship covers the entire cycle of seedling establishment, from the initial planting to the ongoing care essential for their growth and resilience. Over three years, seedlings will receive mulching, staking, weeding, and ongoing monitoring to ensure they survive and thrive.

A $1,600 sponsorship plants 1,600 tree seedlings on one hectare of degraded habitat (purchase of high-quality seedlings, transporting them to the site, and planting) as well as cover the cost of post-planting care: mulching with jute bags cut into squares helps retain soil moisture and regulate temperature, staking supports young seedlings against the wind, and regular weeding minimizes competition with weeds.

A $1,000 sponsorship plants 1,600 tree seedlings on one hectare of degraded red panda habitat. The sponsorship covers the purchase of high-quality seedlings, site transportation, and planting seedlings at the restoration site.
