This WAS a great app that I have used daily for years. The interface was clean and efficient and a great tool for language learning. They recently "improved" the interface, presumably to become more modern looking. It is a complete disaster. Functions that used to be obvious are now buried and hard to find. The quick and efficient lesson progression now requires three times as many clicks to move through the stages. They took a great product and needlessly made it clunky and hard to use.

I really wanted to like this app, but it is just too flawed. The hands-free mode is a great concept, but the voice recognition it uses is garbage. If the word it's listening for is 2 syllables long, it just just ignores my voice entirely... if it's longer than that, it only picks it up sometimes, maybe 60% of the time. It's so frustrating. The other mode of study is just flashcards, which is mediocre and not what I want from a monthly subscription.

I have been liking the app so far. The biggest issue with it is at least for mandarin, the speaking lessons are terrible. My wife who is a native Chinese speaker can't even pass it. If you are looking for an app to learn mandarin, this is probably not the app for you Edit: they seem to have updated the speaking part, it is better now, but still does not recognize a lot, I have trouble still with some lessons, so hopefully this can improve over time. Added a star as it is better.
