PiAP Update: April 2024

The Office of the Provost at UNC-Chapel Hill has determined that the Partnerships in Aging Program does not currently fit within the Office of the Provost’s strategies for campus centers and institutes. As a result, PiAP will conclude on June 30, 2024.

We are deeply grateful for and are working to continue the long history of committed partnerships cultivated by Dr. Cherie Rosemond, her team, and our many community partners.

Please note:

  • Existing community partnerships through PiAP will continue through collaboration with the Community Practice Lab without disruption beyond June 30, 2024.
  • The PiAP website will be online through December 31, 2024. Please take this opportunity to download any resources you may wish to preserve from this website.
  • As our position with the University transitions, stable and sustainable support will help us continue aging-related collaboration.

COLLABORATING ACROSS GENERATIONS
TO IMAGINE AND CULTIVATE
AGE-EMBRACING PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES

In collaboration with community organizations and institutions, the Partnerships in Aging Program (PiAP) nurtures dialogue about the personal and societal meaning of having a long life and advance civic engagement as a way to bring about a new kind of aging. PiAP provides expertise and resources to UNC faculty, students, and community partners seeking to reframe the aging experience, together. PiAP is integrating with the Community Practice Lab (CPL) in an effort to streamline its work to ensure the sustainability of its initiatives and partnerships.
