Sincere apologies to anyone who is reading the Strategist today in order to escape election stuff, but we’re duty-bound to report that the practical pants worn by MSNBC’s beloved numbers guy Steve Kornacki during the 2020 vote coverage are currently on sale at the Gap. A good omen for tonight? Let’s go with that! I’ll take anything.
Four years ago, we deduced that Kornacki wore the Gap’s Modern Khakis in Straight Fit as he tirelessly reported on results county by county. Those very same comfortable yet butt-flattering light-brown pants are just $35 right now, down 42 percent from their original price of $60. Several other colors are on sale, too, including classic beige and black.
I’m unable to get ahold of Kornacki to confirm his 2024 Election Night pants choice (it’s possible that his mind is on more important things?), but he did already appear on Morning Joe today in what appear to be the same khakis, except in dark gray instead of brown. Sadly, the footage doesn’t include enough butt angles to confirm.
I know that reading this kind of stressed you out, so let’s end with some good news. As nice as Kornacki’s khakis are, we won’t necessarily be seeing them all week long, as was the case last time around. The man himself predicts that owing to changed early-voting procedures, many battleground-state results will come in more quickly.
