Nancy Meyers’s Family Has Been Buying These Lands’ End Sheets for Years

In 2018, we all rented a house in Wainscott in the Hamptons. We arrived very late at night and sort of drifted off to our separate bedrooms. The next morning at breakfast, my mom was like, “Did anyone notice how incredible the sheets were on the bed?” And my sister was like, “Yeah, they were incredible.” I said, “Oh my God. They were amazing.” One by one, we all went around the table saying how great they were. So we went into one of the bedrooms and stripped a bed; I was fully assuming they were going to be Frette or Pratesi or something — every detail in that house was beautiful.

So when we saw that they were Lands’ End, we couldn’t believe it. We emailed the woman who owned the house and asked which Lands’ End sheets exactly they were. She sent us back a link in two seconds, and we all ordered them: me, my sister, my mom. And we have been buying them ever since. I mean, I have at least five sets. I have them on my kid’s bed. My sister has them. They are the only sheets she wants. The crazy thing is I got some beautiful sets of sheets for my wedding, and whenever other sheets are on my bed, my husband’s like, “Why, why? We need to put the Lands’ End back on.”

They’re sateen, which usually has a shine to them. But these are not really shiny, which I think is a great thing. They’re cool and warm all at once. They’re so soft, they’re so luxurious. They wash so well. I’ve had some of mine since 2018. I mean, that’s a lot of years now. We iron them in my house. They’re supposed to be no-iron, but I like to still iron things. So they’re crisp and they’re soft, and I would say they’re really delicious. That would be the best way to describe them. And I always get white. And always a sham, never a case.

I posted about how much I love these on Instagram recently, and many people wrote me about them. A designer said, “I only buy these for my clients.” I had a friend who is an editor at Harper’s Bazaar say, “Somebody just turned me on to these; I bought them for every bed in my house.” Another person wrote me last night and was like: “I ordered them. They just arrived. I washed them and put them on my bed. They’re heaven.” A lot of my friends already have them, because I’ve been talking about them for years.

I saw recently they were having a crazy sale. The truth is, Lands’ End is always having sales. Like, everything’s always 40 percent off. I love a sale as much as anybody. I believe I have back stock on the sheets, out of fear of them becoming extinct.
