Not long ago, for the Strategist’s Underwear Week content bonanza, editors Margaret Rhodes and Katy Schneider tried a bunch of undies from a suite of start-ups making underthings. Among them was Negative, a company founded a few years ago by two women designing modern, neutral, highly attractive bras and panties. We liked them quite a bit: “According to their website the Sieve thong has a ‘Belgian honeycomb micromesh’ and a ‘plush Japanese elastic waistband,’ which both sound expensive. But these also feel expensive,” Margaret said. The Sieve thong is included in Negative’s strictly annual sale (“We sort of hate Black Friday, so we chose our own date,” says the website), as are a perforated lace bodysuit, a sensible but still cool bra, and high-rise mesh bottoms. The sale lasts until September 23.
