Profile
This family run operation is notably down-to-earth, even by Park Slope standards. Brothers Bob and John Lenartz, Bob’s wife Patty, and their staff always seem to be chatting happily with customers about their geek wines, inexpensive party-ready magnums, dogs, or the prospects of the sponsored local softball league. When the Lenartzes took over the shop in 2000, its shelves were sealed behind Plexiglas. Now the spacious front room is filled to the ceiling with accessible wines and spirits, running the gamut from Yellowtail to pricey Rhne Valley reds to Black Maple Hill bourbon. The back room is stacked with boxes marked cheap & tasty, which rattle with $10 bottles. You can also check out works for sale by Brooklyn artists, displayed in the bit of open space on the walls.
