Andrew Carmellini’s restaurant in the William Vale hotel isn’t as interesting as his Manhattan establishments, but the Southern Italian fare is dependable.

The lowdown

If you find yourself pining for ribbon-y strips of malfadini decked with pine nuts and fresh garden pesto, or twirls of housemade spaghetti mingled with rich orange sea urchin while wandering among the old warehouses of North Williamsburg, I suggest you make a beeline for Andrew Carmellini’s Italian venture, Leuca, in the bottom of a looming, Brutalist-looking structure called the William Vale hotel.
