Hawk-Eye analysis: Mauresmo's tactics

Amelie Mauresmo cruised into the semi-finals by beating Anastasia Myskina 6-3 6-4.

Hawk-Eye commentator Jason Goodall explains how her tactics secured a comfortable victory:

The cornerstone of Mauresmo's game is her serve.

She must have been quite confident coming into the match because she used it to good effect in previous rounds with nice variation and serving quite accurately.

Against Myskina she was looking to come into the net behind her first serve - she volleyed a staggering 79% of the time behind her first serve, which is an incredible number in men's or women's tennis.

In comparison Myskina struggled with her serve - just 55% success rate on her first serve - and Mauresmo took advantage of the slightly shorter, slower second serve by coming into the net.

Mauresmo made 85% of her returns on Myskina's first serve and 93% on her second serve.

At the net, Maursemo won 30 points and only lost 13 - coming in a total of 43 times.

She continued to serve effectively throughout the match and backed that up with lovely variation at the back of the court whilst maintaining her aggressive outlook, moving up the court trying to implement her gameplan.

And that was why she was a comfortable winner.
