Jazz Up Your Keyboard With These Wood Keys for Mac

If you're an Apple fanboy or fangirl, the MacBook's design is perhaps already pure perfection to you. But if you're looking to differentiate your Mac from the rest of the crowd, check out these wood keys for your Apple laptop or desktop keyboard that add a natural accent.

New York-based design firm RAWBKNY has designed wooden keys that you can affix to your existing Mac keyboard, as shown in the video above.

The keys are made from real rosewood or bamboo, but the wood is only about 0.6 mm thin, so it won't add bulk or touch your MacBook screen. With wood key layouts available for the unibody MacBook ($40), the wireless Mac keyboard ($40) and the wired, numeric Mac keyboard ($45), all you do is peel and stick the adhesive-backed wood keys.

If you ever want to revert back to the au-naturel keys, you can just peel to take off the wooden adhesives. RAWBKNY claims the removal leaves no residue.

The design firm is trying to raise $25,000 on Kickstarter to take this product into mass production. With 23 days left to go, the Kickstarter campaign had raised over $7,200, as of Wednesday evening.

Backers who pledge at least $40 can get these wood keys for Mac themselves to modify the stock design.

Just don't tell Apple's design guru Jonathan Ive.
