Interim President named

OSU welcomes Dr. James Hess

The OSU/A&M Board of Regents approved the appointment of Dr. James Hess as interim president of Oklahoma State University. A native of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Hess has served the higher education system in Oklahoma for over 43 years, and, in 2023, was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame. Hess most recently served as vice provost for graduate programs at the OSU Center for Health Sciences, where he has exhibited exemplary leadership and vision in various roles going back to 2003.

With nearly 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Beckner brings a community-focused approach to campus safety. He shares his vision for increasing police visibility, building trust with students and strengthening partnerships with local law enforcement. MAE Ph.D. candidate wins first in Big City/High Tech category of Riata Center competition Feb 14

Soroosh Farsiani, a Ph.D. candidate in CEAT’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, won first place in the Big City/High Tech category in the 2025 Riata Center for Entrepreneurship’s Business Plan competition. He has developed breakthrough multi-axis 3D-printing technology called SCIVINCE to overcome limitations posed by current 3D printing methods.
