MSU has been recognized as a “Fulbright Top Producing Institution” for the Fulbright U.S. Students in 2024-25 by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In total, 10 MSU students and alumni were offered Fulbright awards with nine accepting.
MSU celebrates Black History Month each year throughout the month of February. This month is dedicated to highlighting the U.S. history of Black and African American people. Colleges, units and student organizations will host commemorative events across campus.
MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., announced the One Team, One Health initiative, a bold and strategic vision for MSU Health Sciences that will harness the university’s educational, research and clinical assets, while bolstering stronger connections between MSU’s human, animal and environmental health programs as well as better prepare the next generation of providers.

Why do so many retirement-age scientists keep working?: Roger Baldwin, Erickson Distinguished Chair Emeritus at the College of Education, offered his research on the push for those in academia who want to continue researching into retirement.

MSU used an inclusive and comprehensive strategic planning process to create a shared vision for the future and a common set of principles and values to guide our work.
To recognize the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion as a foundation for university, MSU is using a comprehensive DEI planning process focusing on those values and working in collaboration with the overall strategic planning process.
The RVSM Strategic Plan stems from work by leading researchers and experts in the field to develop a plan for survivor services, prevention efforts, and climate and culture change initiatives.
