Tamar was a Man of Númenor in the Second Age, created for the TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Biography[]
A member of a prominent guild based in Armenelos, Tamar was dining with a number of companions when he noticed the man Halbrand nearby. Irritated by Halbrand's audacity, Tamar and his acquaintances attempted to intimidate him, but were for a time put at ease when Halbrand bought them drinks. Halbrand used the opportunity to steal Tamar's guild crest, though Tamar quickly discovered the theft and followed Halbrand into an alley with three companions. Halbrand offered to return the crest, but Tamar ignored his request for civility and began to physically assault Halbrand, who violently attacked the four men and left them severely injured, though this resulted in his own arrest and imprisonment.
Tamar, though badly bruised, soon came to a public forum in Armenelos and began speaking against Queen Regent Míriel for her perceived friendliness to Galadriel, known as an associate of Halbrand. Pharazôn then arrived and made his own speech, using the crowd's resentment towards the Elves to great effect.
