Kreeft in 2012
Peter J. Kreeft (pronounced kraift - born March 1937 in New Jersey) is an American author, lecturer, and professor of philosophy at Boston College who, in 2005, wrote The Philosophy of Tolkien: The Worldview behind The Lord of the Rings. The majority of his bibliography includes works on Socrates, Christian apologetics, and Catholicism.

In 2012, Kreeft provided the foreword to Louis Markos' book On the Shoulders of Hobbits: The Road to Virtue with Tolkien and Lewis.
