River Limlight at the northern border of Rohan, in The Lord of the Rings Online
The Limlight was a tributary of the river Anduin, which flowed eastwards from Fangorn forest, emptying into the Anduin in the North Undeep near the Brown Lands. It formed the northern border of Rohan.
It was approximately one-hundred fifty miles in length.[1]
History[]
Before the arrival of the Rohirrim when the area was a province of Gondor known as Calenardhon, the river Limlight was considered to be the northern border of the Kingdom of Gondor. With the cession of Calenardhon to the Éothéod, the river became the northern border of the new Kingdom of Rohan. It was also the southern boundary of the Field of Celebrant, which was near the Elven realm of Lothlórien.[2]
