New CD trading service La La lets you put your old CDs up for trade and browse other people's CD collections. Interested in an album? Pay La La $1 and have the other member ship you the disc - like a distributed Netflix (except you get to keep it).
Everyone has CDs they want to unload, and when you complete a trade you get the music on the cheap, completely legally and on the original media. La La just opened to the public, but the existing CD library is still pretty impressive, as is the search and browse interface where you can sample tunes from albums you want and view member profiles who have it up for trade. La La's even voluntarily sending 20% of that buck you pay to the artists. Nice.
