Despite two generations of Kekkaishi having served after them, the 21st Legitimate Successors still include two of the most powerful Kekkaishi of their time.
Combat Strength[]
Tokiko and Shigemori are masters of the Hazama-Ryu Kekkaijutsu, which is evident in their skills: even in semi-retirement, both have proven capable of out-performing Yoshimori at least once in terms of power. Surprisingly, even though the Sumimura Family is known for their ability to produce colossal Kekkai, Tokiko can not only do the same, but is still recognized as the most powerful Kekkaishi in Karasumori. The team's wealth of experience is in part due to the fact that neither of their children was a Legitimate Successor. Combined with the early death of Tokiko's son, Tokiko and Shigemori most likely remained active far longer than either had originally intended, until their grandchildren were capable of succeeding them as Karasumori's protectors.
