About
Gridcoin Plateaux
Gridcoin Plateaux is a private and independent project to provide the best technologies, solutions, hardware, software and operating systems to Gridcoin Research blockchain.
The goal is delivering a solid infrastructure, robust architecture and enterprise solutions to speed up blockchain synchronization, accelerate transactions and maintain stability. The motivation is to learn and experiment with different solutions, gain experience, verify technologies in living networks, learn productive blockchain and play with software releases.
BOINC
Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) is an open-source volunteer oriented computing grid that combines the processing power of individual users for the purposes of scientific research. It uses computer's processors and graphics cards to cure diseases, study global warming, discover pulsars, and do many other types of scientific research.
Gridcoin rewards active users of BOINC projects, can help offset their electricity bills and improve userbase retention.
Gridcoin Research
Gridcoin Research is an open-source blockchain that mints and distributes cryptocurrency in relation to the processing power a network participant directs toward data driven analysis and scientific discovery.
The Gridcoin blockchain is secured through a proof-of-stake protocol and monitors processing contributions to the distributed computing infrastructure of BOINC. Access to this network is free for those with data to process, while participants of the network are incentivized with cryptocurrency minted by the protocol.
GRC
GRC is a decentralized, open source, math-based digital asset launched in 2013. The coin compensates researchers for participating in BOINC projects what may lead to advances in medicine, biology, mathematics, science, climatology, particle and astrophysics.
GRC differs from other cryptocurrencies in its ability to support scientific projects broadcasted over the BOINC network whitelisted by community consensus. Gridcoin network and blockchain perform GRC transactions peer-to-peer cryptographically without central authority for reward distribution.
