When flying in IMC, there is no horizon reference. A pilot will not auto-level their head in IMC, certainly not with respect to reality. (Possibly with respect to their inner ear.)

Perhaps we can use a visibility dataref or similar to detect when the A/C has entered the clouds and gradually pull the level head all the way back until they break out? An additional improvement might be to eliminate level head when there is no horizon, like at night over water?
