Problem Definition

I have a local valid Kusama RPC in the form of wss://kusama.some.domain.
The endpoint is fine and other tools can connect fine. Rotki however returns:

kusama failed to connect to own node at endpoint wss://kusama.some.domain, due to Invalid SubstrateInterface instantiation.

Either there is a bug or Rotki does not support web sockets endpoints ?
It is however working fine with using https. Not really an issue in my case since https is also available but some RPC nodes may only expose the web socket.
