Pixel Tablets receive regular software updates that include security enhancements, new features, operating system updates, bug fixes, and more.
If you bought your device from the Google Store, updates will typically reach your device within 2 weeks. Updates can take longer if you bought your device elsewhere.
When you'll get Pixel Tablet updates
The Pixel Tablet will get updates for at least 5 years from when it first became available on the Google Store in the US. These include security and software updates, and may also include new features. The following table contains software update guarantees for the Pixel Tablet:

Check for Pixel system updates
You'll get a notification on your Pixel Tablet when a software update is available. To install updates, tap the notification or open your system settings:
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Tap System Software updates.
- Check the screen for device software updates.
- If an update exists, tap it follow the on-screen instructions.

Charging Speaker Dock updates
The Charging Speaker Dock is updated automatically if your tablet is connected to the Internet when you dock it.
