AFD Relistings
[edit]Hello, All Tomorrows No Yesterdays,
Thank you for your help with AFDs but please do not be so eager to relist discussions that you end up relisting them too early, that is, before the 7 day period/cycle ends. We have AFD closers who focus on older AFD discussions that might have no obvious consensus and relisting them puts the discussion on the most recent daily AFD log which that editor is unlikely to see for another week.
Don't be so eager to use the AFD tools that you prevent some discussions from being closed as not every open discussion needs to be relisted for another week. If can help to review policy and essays like WP:RELIST and Wikipedia:Relist bias. They provide guidance on those cases when relisting would be appropriate. Thanks again for your assistance. Liz Read! Talk! 17:51, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm, I think I just realised that I've been a bit too eager to relist mainly due to me using the Local timezone converter gadget (or whatever its called). I think I should turn it off to prevent any premature relistings, thanks for the heads up. All Tomorrows No Yesterdays (Ughhh.... What did I do wrong this time?) 08:44, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've subconsciously ignored the warnings given by XFDcloser since the 7 day period before a relist seems to have passed in my timezone but not in GMT (which I totally forgot). Sorry about that.
- Question though, does GMT/UTC+0 take precedence over any local timezones in regards to waiting periods and such? All Tomorrows No Yesterdays (Ughhh.... What did I do wrong this time?) 08:56, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Liz any comments? All Tomorrows No Yesterdays (Ughhh.... What did I do wrong this time?) 15:33, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I'd suggest to wait till the time is over and the closer is green. Also see the discussion where the consensus lie. — Benison (Beni · talk) 05:01, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- hm? Your comment did not answer my question. All Tomorrows No Yesterdays (Ughhh.... What did I do wrong this time?) 10:49, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
