A month ago we talked about an article I wrote. I am a paid contributor. I'm trying to follow all the guidelines and you helped me with that. I added some part to make it more impartial, talking about criticism. This article has already been previously approved by @Qcne. Can you check and see if you can exit drafts again?

Advice on draft: Mary Beth Goodman bio
[edit]Hello there, as a new author who seemingly took on a bigger challenge than expected in drafting a living person’s bio, I would appreciate your advice.
What can I do to get this draft bio of Mary Beth Goodman ready for publication? You recently rejected it and in response I asked questions on the draft’s talk page about alternative sources and why the existing sources are insufficient. Perhaps you can give me more detailed feedback?
The person being profiled has mostly been a diplomat or civil servant so the sources to substantiate her bio are not diverse: they are government sources or other organizations citing the government ones—but it seems editors don’t find those credible. I don’t know how to proceed.
Your help is appreciated. 🙏 Lfdigests (talk) 20:58, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

Draft article declined: This draft's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article.
I noticed a key link broken so I updated - covers the organization in a paragraph and footnote. Also added award.
There several interviews (both primary and secondary) that mention the organization in several paragraphs. I saw on another article: "interviews are not inherently unreliable and can present a mix of independent secondary coverage and own statements, and all statements are verifiable consistent with WP:V and WP:RS"
Curious your thoughts on which sources are needed.
Had used wiki article as a guide for sourcing and can't tell how the sources are substantially different: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Segal
Thank you very much. Postcinematicbodies (talk) 04:22, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you and welcome to Wikipedia. Sources should be reliable and may include newspapers and magazines (notable national and international), peer reviewed journals, e.t.c. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 05:44, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Ok thank you!
- I fixed a broken link to a peer review journal that covers the organization in a paragraph and a footnote and added a link to an award I found. I'm curious if this would help with the notability issues and I should resubmit or if I should continue collecting references?
- In terms of in depth coverage - there's one peer reviewed journal, a leading digital arts magazine and a leading European fashion magazine in addition to a government award. Postcinematicbodies (talk) 15:56, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Let me know what you think about these edits - thanks! Postcinematicbodies (talk) 19:31, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- If you think they are ready, then resubmit and wait for acceptance or decline. However if I have the time, i would remain at the best service of helping out. Cheers. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:06, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi there, can you explain your reasoning for declining this one as not meeting WP:NPROF? I wouldn't say I'm 100% confident it can't be deleted at AfD, but he certainly meets my "good enough for AfD to have a go at it" bar. -- asilvering (talk) 21:02, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Asilvering, I have seen this a long time ago but couldn't say anything. My bad, and I wish you all the best. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:07, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for your time and comments on my Draft:Hugh_Owen_Medal article. I wanted to better understand the issues with reliability of sources for this national research medal. I have attempted to identify appropriate secondary sources, as it will largely be university/institutional news releases that will independently announce the annual award winners (alongside the Learned Society of Wales' own announcements). Would these not count as quality/reliable/independent secondary sources? I have also attempted to identify other independent sources, such as the British Educational Research Association, as well as from Senedd Cymru, the Welsh Parliament (national legislature).
(I have also just updated the draft article with 2024 Medal winner, as well as some general tidying)
Facbgc (talk) 11:44, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Facbgc, you're doing great with the writing, however the draft doesn't meet WP:NAWARDS. The sources were a bit funny and from a look, they don't meet WP:SIGCOV. Source 1 is verifiable especially with giving information about the award, but because it is a WP:PRIMARYSOURCE, we couldn't use it to determine notability. The bbc article was all about "Dillwyn Medal", and fails to verify anything to where it was used as a source. The article from 'bera.ac.uk' is likely a paid publication, otherwise advert. Without leaning much on above, the YouTube links should be removed as they aren't reliable. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:26, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
Draft page of Register.BG publication denial.
[edit]Hi SafariScribe.
Thank you for reviewing my page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Register.BG
Unfortunately I did not understand why exactly the publication was denied. I would like to ask for help publishing my article about "Register.BG". Can you please share your opinion what we can do to have this page published? The company "Register.BG" is popular in Bulgaria and it is the top level domain registry in the country. The company has its roots from the late 1980s and it has a rich history in contribution of the development the internet society. I added all possible references that I found online, however the page publication was denied. Some of the sources are very credible including the ones from ICANN - which is a well known non-profit organization selected by the US government to manage and develop the internet zone. Can you please give me an advice what else i can do to have this page accepted.
Kind Regards! Nick Nickpetersen2023 (talk) 15:06, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Nickpetersen2023, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for the patience of waiting for my reply; I was indeed very very busy. Your draft doesn't appear to meet WP:NCORP. Although I have this feeling that it may be notable since it operates the Bulgarian National Internet Domain Registry, I also see the blatant lack of WP:SIGCOV perhaps sources doesn't equal WP:SIRS. Sources, as you should know, helps us in determining notablity, and I wonder why you would count these unreliable sources otherwise database entries as WP:RS: ruskov-law.eu, help.superhosting.bg, www.icann.org, e.t.c. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 00:58, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer.
- I tried to find more information about the company.
- Can you please take a look the following references and tell me if they are acceptable:
- Position 1: "Register.BG - Registration and use of domain names at ccTLD registry"
- Position 10: "Bulgaria Internet Company Launches Domain Names in Cyrillic - Novinite.com - Sofia News Agency".
- Best Regards,
- Nick Nickpetersen2023 (talk) 14:27, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- I would check the references later. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:08, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

I don't think I understand the reason my article was rejected. Throughout the article, I linked news articles from across the country about the event. Can you please help me by being more specific about what sources are not acceptable?
Mabnola (talk) 16:32, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi and welcome. I don't know how you had expected an editor to know that this source from NY Times was really about the event, because it used "a clandestine coast-to-coast race in record time." Therefore another source should be placed to confirm your content. The 11th source is a book with low bibliographical details. Following the need for WP:OFFLINESOURCES, it would be appreciative to include the page numbers in the book where you got your information. Reviewing the newspaper archive, I saw that you failed to include a clipping of the particular headline as was seen in "The Journal 5 June 1984 — The NYS Historic Newspapers". Also, there was same problem with the overused source "NewspaperArchive 1700s - 2024 | NewspaperArchive". Having this little coverage doesn't impress our rule for WP:NEVENT and WP:SIGCOV. Events can exist but they may not be notable for a standalone article. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 01:13, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
Dear SafariScribe,
You recently rejected the page I made, which I'll link here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Noord_Nederlandsche_P%26I_Club
It was declined earlier on account of an overabundance of references that weren't of solid enough quality -- so I weeded out the weak ones until only the better remained. I also took care to write the article in a neutral tone of voice, without any "peacock language". I believe the article speaks for itself in how factual it is.
Just to be clear on my position here: I've creating this page as a professional assignment by the company NNPC itself. Despite this, I understand and support the nature of Wikipedia!
If you could clarify for me what exactly it is that made you decline the page and how I could improve it for publication, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for taking the time to help!

- I would get back to this. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 01:17, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- No, it was declined as a promotional piece. For example, "The company slogan is "Worldwide. Always Around." Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:09, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for acting as closer in this discussion.
I urge you to reopen the discussion, as this title is a clear violation of the policy at WP:NAMECHANGES. Recent secondary source articles all use "Kate Scott"[1] and her blue-check Insta is @katescott. See also WP:SPNC. 162 etc. (talk) 22:52, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- @162 etc., thank you for the messages. My closure equally matches the obvious consensus of that discussion. Since you didn't vote, you may want to open a new RM. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:20, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- Your comment here makes me curious, are you aware of WP:RMNOMIN?
If no one has objected, go ahead and perform the move as requested unless it is out of keeping with naming conventions or is otherwise in conflict with applicable guidelines or policy. Further, any move request that is out of keeping with naming conventions or is otherwise in conflict with applicable guideline and policy, unless there is a very good reason to ignore rules, should be closed without moving regardless of how many of the participants support it. (emphasis mine)
- I'm as yet undecided on whether or not this particular RM should have been closed as moved or not, but the fact that you did not attempt to question the alleged violation of policy, while justifying your closure of the move on the basis of consensus, makes it unclear if you are aware of this particular aspect of closing RMs. JJPMaster (she/they) 14:56, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

Unusual recent RM closes
[edit]You recently closed Talk:Chuck Smith (sprinter) and other RMs concerning WP:NCSP as "WP:SNOW close per 2 !vote consensus." This seems odd, as the closes were not early (all 7 days after being posted), the "2 !vote[s]" includes the nominator, and I believe SNOW would not apply with so few !votes. In fact, you could have closed that as uncontested technical requests (WP:RMNOMIN), which is quite different from SNOW. Alternatively, you could have just closed them as "moved," which perhaps would have been the best option. Sorry in advance if there's something I'm missing here. JJPMaster (she/they) 13:17, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @JJPMaster, and thank you for your concerns. I expressed cautious care while moving this pages as WP:SNOW since it's obviously going to be moved. We do that sometimes, but not always, to save the community's time. That may be what you are missing hahah. Thanks though. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 15:19, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
