Description
English: Ultraviolet (UV) photons harm the DNA molecules of living organisms in different ways. In one common damage event, adjacent bases bond with each other, instead of across the “ladder.” This makes a bulge, and the distorted DNA molecule does not function properly.
Deutsch: Ultraviolette (UV) Photonen schaden den DNS Molekülen lebender Organismen auf verschiedene Weise. Eine Variante ist, dass nebeneinander liegende Basen sich miteinander verbinden anstatt mit ihrem "Gegenüber". Dies verursacht eine Ausbeulung, worauf das deformierte DNS Molekül nicht mehr normal funktioniert.
Français : Les photons ultraviolets (UV) endommagent les molécules d'ADN des organismes vivants de différentes manières.
