Hello all,
This is just a really quick follow up to let you know that even though it’s been a month since my last post I don’t really have anything new to report. I’m still waiting to see a doctor at The Christie in Manchester and get some kind of real diagnosis or prognosis. Hopefully then I can find out where all this goes from here and make some plans.
I did finally get called to Manchester this week for CT scans and blood tests. I’m not holding my breath on getting the results any time soon but at least it’s something.
I do feel a little better and I’m glad to say the surgical wound on my side is almost healed but it’s still far from 100%. I have to get it packed and redressed every 2 or 3 days. I’m exhausted most of the time but not really in any pain, so things could be a lot worse.
They say “no news is good news” but in this case it’s just frustrating. I can only hope it doesn’t take too much longer and as soon there’s anything significant to share with you I will do.
Bye for now,
Dan
I can’t be alone in feeling really grateful for these updates. The last thing I want is people hassling me when I have something as simple as man-flu so I don’t want to keep asking you how you are doing.
I really hope the NHS can sort you out but if Cameron really has destroyed it like people say, maybe it would be worth doing a crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds to allow you to go private.
I’m confident that there are enough of us out there who care enough to make that happen and we can spread the word to help even more.
We all want you to at least get a proper diagnosis and we all want you to get better.
@Joe – Cheers mate, no need to panic yet. I have looked into it and going private won’t really help at this stage. I think Cameron and Osborn are doing their best to destroy all public services and the NHS is definitely affected, no matter how much they say it is “ring fenced”. When you go to Harley St for all your medical needs and have inherited millions anyway how can you claim to represent ordinary people? You are making decisions about things you have no stake in. It’ll get sorted in the end, they are waiting to grow cultures in the lab and you can’t rush that no matter how much money you have. I’ll be sure to let you know if I hear anything.
I just hope you’ll get better and it’ll happen sooner than later. All the best. 🙂
