So, I've been AWOL lately, on here and tumblr and twitter because RL has swallowed me whole.  My thesis is due in less than a month and I'm starting to have draft deadlines and advisor meetings like mad and it's left me little time to do lovely fannish things.  So, this is mostly a note to say that I have not in fact dropped off the face of the planet - as much as I would like to rather often these days - and that hopefully, sometime in the future I'll have (a) figured out my life and (b) finished my insane thesis and thus will be able to get back to the important things in life, i.e. icons and fanfiction.

Damn family gatherings that make me unable to squee with fandom after the Doctor Who Christmas Special today.  :(

I'm being dragged off to be social about 10 minutes after the episode finishes airing so I probably won't able to comment on reviews and whatnot until tomorrow, unless by some christmas miracle the lj iphone app + 3G coverage works well enough for such purposes.  

Does it make me a bad person that I'd rather post with flisters about dw than have small talk with extended family?  

In other news, I've created a dreamwidth account.  I haven't figured out how to crosspost or anything, so there's nothing over there at the moment, but it's on my to do list.  The new layout of lj actually doesn't bug me that much, but the way lj handled the response to said layout does and as others are making the switch, I figured I might as well check it out.  I'm cassi0pei4 over there as well, just for simplicity's sake.  

So, uh, I think I may have underestimated the time it would take me to make 20 icons.  I signed up for  my first 20in20 at trope_overdosed thinking, "Hey, I'll have a whole week of my winter recess to work on them after I leave uni.  That's plenty of time!"

Heh.

I've currently completed 2 of my 20 icons.  Like I said, might have underestimated a bit... 

In other news, still obsessed by Sanctuary.  Obsessed enough to watch some Stargate, just because it feed my Amanda Tapping fix.
