Avatars are customized images that every player is represented by.
They consist in 4 parts:
- head,
- arms,
- torso, and
- legs.
Default pieces[]
Each players start with:
- 33 head parts (of which 12 male and 21 female),
- 12 arms parts (of which 5 male and 7 female),
- 13 torso parts (of which 5 male and 8 female), and
- 13 legs parts (of which 6 male and 7 female).
Purchasable sets[]
Additional avatar pieces can be bought from the store as full sets for 5,000 gold or 500 Shards each. Although they are provided in predefined sets, these pieces can be mixed with other sets.
Wisened Caller[]
Wisened Caller is a male Order-related avatar set.
In-game description: This guy has wielded more scrolls than you've had hot dinners.
Kinfolk Protector[]
Kinfolk Protector is a male Growth-related avatar set.
In-game description: As far as we know, the horns are purely ornamental...
Machine Prophet[]
Machine Prophet is a male Energy-related avatar set.
In-game description: This windswept prophet never blames his tools.
Brute Enforcer[]
Brute Enforcer is a female Energy-related avatar set.
In-game description: Blunt fists and pointy elbows. Sometimes weapons just aren't necessary.
Faith Seer[]
Faith Seer is a female Order-related avatar set.
In-game description: Vision and footwear are grossly overrated. Daggers still come in handy though.
Wood Urchin[]
Wood Urchin is a female Growth-related avatar set.
In-game description: This spritely urchin likes trees, animals, and breaking an opponent's will to live.
Bog Wanderer[]
Bog Wanderer is a male Decay-related avatar set.
In-game description: This vagabond is equipped to deal with the best and worst of the mire.
Lady Huntress[]
Lady Huntress is a female Decay-related avatar set.
In-game description: This brutal huntress doesn't discriminate. She'll break anyone who ventures too close.
Exclusive pieces[]
ESL Scrolls Opening Cup[]
Top 8 players of the ESL Scrolls Opening Cup were rewarded two exclusive head pieces, a male and a female, as seen on the right.
History[]
Avatars were first introduced in the 0.71 alpha update. Only default male pieces were available at this time.
Female pieces were then added in 0.82 alpha.
The possibility of buying sets from the store was given to players as part of the 0.92 alpha update (which was the last before beta). The first sets purchasable were: Wisened Caller, Kinfolk Protector, Machine Prophet, Brute Enforcer, Faith Seer, and Wood Urchin.
Bog Wanderer and Lady Huntress sets were added as part of the Decay update. Additionally, anyone who bought the Decay Preconstructed deck during The Week of Decay was given the Bog Wanderer set for free.
