Awareness

Take a Hearing Test. Right at home.

Millions of people are unaware that they’re living with hearing loss, and even more don’t get tested. But now it’s faster, easier, and more convenient than ever to get scientifically validated results on your own time.1

A more convenient process. Pro-level Active Noise Cancellation and the in‑ear seal on your AirPods Pro 2 simulate the conditions needed to evaluate and provide you with insights into your hearing. Just find a quiet, comfortable place and launch the test from your AirPods settings or the Health app. The system will automatically check the fit of your AirPods Pro 2 and assess background noise levels before getting started.

Hear the tones, tap the screen. Using pure‑tone audiometry built on advanced acoustic science, the test plays a series of tones that you respond to by tapping the screen. Helpful animations, tap‑back effects, and progress indicators guide you through the experience, which takes about five minutes. More than 150,000 real‑world audiograms and millions of simulations helped develop a Hearing Test that’s accurate, fast, and easy.

Immediate results. Seamless support. When you complete the test, you see a personalized profile with easy‑to‑understand results and insights about your hearing. If you have little to no loss, but could still benefit from hearing certain frequencies more clearly, you’ll be able to adjust your Media Assist settings for enhanced audio on media and calls. And if you have perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, you’ll be prompted to set up the Hearing Aid feature.

Private, secure, and easy to manage. All your Hearing Test data is privately and securely stored in the Health app on your device. You can retake the test whenever you want, monitor your hearing over time, download your test results, and read helpful articles about hearing health.

Assistance

A clinical‑grade Hearing Aid.

AirPods Pro 2 now provide a clinical grade Hearing Aid feature1 that is remarkably easy to use throughout the day. Simply switch it on and hear it all clearly.

A meaningful difference. After you complete the Hearing Test, if you have mild to moderate hearing loss, your personalized hearing profile will guide you to the Hearing Aid feature. With a quick setup, you’ll start hearing more clearly immediately. You can even customize the settings to your needs.

1 in 3 people experience excessive exposure to noise on a regular basis.

Take noise down a notch. Hearing Protection translates the sound signatures of what you hear to lower levels in environments as loud as 110 dBA. Machine learning on the H2 chip actively reduces louder, more intermittent noise at 48,000 times per second, and the ear tips provide passive noise reduction.
