Vital Points to consider in order to provide Students with Quality Education for
Excellence and Equity
1. Demonstrates a belief that all students can learn
Educators is based on teachers who believed their students could learn, even when
others had given up on them Teachers must believe that all students can learn and that we
can make it possible regardless of the student’s life circumstances to achieve their full
potential because students are the future, teachers cannot prepare students for
unknown future roles, but can equip them with the skills they need so that they can adapt and
flourish as socially responsible, engaged and creative global citizens.
2. Teaches responsible Citizenship and Life Skills.
Teachers should teach students citizenship and life skills. Citizenship is all about
values and discipline that includes respect, responsibility, honesty and kindness. Life skills is
the basic skills that you can have through experience that enables you to handle problems that
is encountered in daily life. Teaching students with citizenship and life skills can help them
develop their self-confidence, can deal with challenges in life, willing to take responsibility,
enables students to have a positive contribution in the community and develop fairness.
3. Treat each students fairly.
Every teacher should treat their students fairly no matter of his/her ability level. A
teacher should not show favoritism to students. For example, a teacher should not pick
favorite students to do the tasks or changing the seats into “genius students at the front” and
“unintelligent at the back”, the teacher must show fairness to all students and give others the
chance to participate in the tasks. Also, when a teacher shows favoritism to a student, some
students will think that this student you have shown favoritism is a “teacher pet” and has the
advantage in class. Another is about grades, a teacher should grade students fairly. Their
grades must be based in their academic performance not because of gifts given by the
students or because a student is giving you all information or students that we call “sip-sip”.
4. Promotes safe and positive learning environment.
Teachers should promote safe and learning environment because it affect the social,
emotional and development of the students. Without a safe environment in the classroom or
in the school it can lead into physical violence, bullying, and emotional abuse. Every teacher
should also be mindful in their environment and the words they say to their students even
they mean it as a joke because somehow the other students may take it seriously, so the
results is not safe neither a positive environment at all. Having a safe and positive learning
environment, teachers must use strategies to help the students in their needs and ensuring that
every student has the opportunity to learn and succeed.
5. Exemplifies a good role model
There is no perfect person in this world. Being a good role model is a process. I have
a question in my mind, when can I say that a teacher is a good role model? Is it giving the
students bunch of activities, giving the students assigned reports to be reported in class or
when teachers discussed lessons in front of the class? School is a place for academic learning
and social learning and teachers are the second mother of the students hence, must be a good
role model to students because teachers are the inspiration of the classroom. I have a teacher,
when I first met him I know that I will learn many things from him. He teach and explain the
lessons very well, and ensures that all of his students will listen and understand the topic. But,
there’s something more, he always give us life advices, teaches us values, good behavior and
shows us what being a teacher is all about. He is already molding us to become a good
teacher someday. Then I came up to my mind that being a good role model teacher is not just
teaching students’ bunch of lessons but also giving them life lessons, shares good practices
that influence their behavior and attitude to become successful someday. Furthermore, every
teacher must exemplify a good role model because students are watching them all the time,
their actions, beliefs and attitude. And they may not know that there are students that already
admire and aspire to be like them.
6. Exhibits adhering honest and professional attitude
Teacher must show honesty and professional attitude because the success of the
teaching-learning process depends on the attitude of the teacher. The personality of students
can be developed from the personality of teachers who are kind, caring, and ready to sacrifice
and who show sincere interest in students. Teachers who are confident and adjustable are
respected by their students and are successful. Being an honest teacher must not cheat in
his/her instruction. Example of having a professional attitude is by providing remedial
lessons, and follow–ups on attendance of students.
7. Recognizes the community as partner in educating students
“It takes a village to educate a child” is a well-known proverb. A family is the first
school where a child receives the basic values of life. Teachers must recognize the
community as partner in educating students because the community also serves as platform
for the child to live a good personal and social life. Teachers are responsible to educate a
child that’s why teachers and parents must have a trusting relationship because they are the
factors that help the child to teach them educational learnings and values that will use to
guide their own lives.
8. Maintains confidentiality on critical issues that affects the secrecy of the entire
educational system
Every teacher is responsible for maintaining the privacy of every student's data and
only disclosing it when absolutely necessary, such as to parents, other teachers, and
administrators. Finally, by implementing explicit security procedures in their classrooms,
educators can maintain the privacy and confidentiality of student data.
9. Abides by the policies and regulations
Teachers are required to adhere to a variety of policies, or rules to follow, and practices their
school or district creates not only in school but also in community and all over the
Philippines. Teachers must follow the policies to influence students because teachers have the
ability to shape leaders of the future in the best way for society to build positive and inspired
future, both on a local and global scale. In reality, teachers have the most important job in the
world. Those who have an impact on the children of society have the power to change lives.
Not just for those children themselves, but for the lives of all.
BASIC SKILLS OF AN EFFECTIVE TEACHING

organizing, controlling, communicating, motivating, developing, and managing. The
classroom is the work environment of a teacher. The teacher should plan, control, and
manage a classroom management, a well-organized classroom should have all the necessary
tools like books and technology in places where they do not distract students. Teacher must
motivate students to learn and develop their skills and critical thinking, and teachers should
ideally be good at physical, verbal and written communication. Strong verbal communication

concepts in a way that students can understand.

cope up with the challenges. For example is adjusting the teaching methods based on the age
of students, the resources available and the changing of curriculum. Teachers should be
resourceful in order to see beyond everyday solutions, not giving up when problems
get complicated, and learning from mistakes along the way. Being resourceful
means developing the ability to look at multiple solutions to a single problem. A
teacher’s job is to create a healthy safe learning environment where the teacher can deliver
lessons and support learning thus, he/ she must be approachable, have a good memory,
