Why Goloka Chart?

goloka-nämni nija-dhämni tale ca tasya
devi maheça-hari-dhämasu teñu teñu
te te prabhäva-nicayä vihitäç ca yena
govindam ädi-puruñaà tam ahaà bhajämi
• Synonyms
• goloka-nāmni — in the planet known as Goloka Vṛndāvana; nija-dhāmni — the personal abode of the Supreme Personality
of Godhead; tale — in the part underneath; ca — also; tasya — of that; devi — of the Goddess Durgā; maheśa — of Lord
Śiva; hari — of Nārāyaṇa; dhāmasu — in the planets; teṣu teṣu — in each of them; te te — those respective; prabhāva-
nicayāḥ — opulences; vihitāḥ — established; ca — also; yena — by whom; govindam — Govinda; ādi-puruṣam — the
original person; tam — Him; aham — I; bhajāmi — worship.
Translation
• Lowest of all is located Devī-dhāma [mundane world], next above it is Maheśa-dhāma [abode of Maheśa];
above Maheśa-dhāma is placed Hari-dhāma [abode of Hari] and above them all is located Kṛṣṇa's own
realm named Goloka. I adore the primeval Lord Govinda, who has allotted their respective authorities to
the rulers of those graded realms.

• Complexion – Lightning, being cream-
colored with a tinge of red (gaurangi)

Campakalata (Campakamallika)
• third most important of the eight varistha-gopis
• Skilled diplomat who know how to thwart Srimati
Radharani’s rivals
• Expert at collecting fruits, flowers and roots from the
forest & leader of all gopis who are appointed as
protectoresses of the trees, creepers and bushes of
Vrindavan.
• Complexion – like the champaka flower (blossoming
yellow)
• Age – 14 years 2 months and 13 ½ days (one day
younger than Srimati Radharani)
• Father – Arama, Mother – Vatika-devi, Husband –

• Her service is to offer garlands of cloves to Radha and

than Srimati Radharani)

Tungavidya
• Fifth of the eight varistha-gopis
• She loves Sri Krsna very much and, filled with eagerness for
that prema, she exhibits the bhava known as vipralabdhatva.
She is very devoted to her seva of dancing and singing, and
is a celebrated music teacher who is expert at playing the
vina and singing in the style known as marga.
• She has full faith in Krsna. She is very expert at arranging
the meetings of the Divine Couple. She is learned in rasa-
sastra (transcendental mellows), is learned in the eighteen
branches of knowledge, in niti-sastra (morality), dancing,
drama, literature and all other arts and sciences
• Complexion – like Kumkum mixed with camphor and
sandalwood
• Age – 14 years 2 months and 22 days (5 days younger
than Srimati Radharani)
• Father – Puskara, Mother – Medha-devi, Husband –
Balisa

• Sixth of the eight varistha-gopis
• Her main service is to prepare nectarean foods for the
divine couple
• Her mood is known as prosita-bhartrka, the mood of a
heroine who suffers when her beloved is far away, and
her temperament is vama-prakhara, or contrary and
hot-tempered.
• Complexion – lemon yellow and wears garments the
color of a promegranate flower
• Age – 14 years 2 months and 10 1/2 days (3 days
younger than Srimati Radharani)

• Seventh of the eight varistha-gopis
• She is very fond of joking with her friend

• She possesses the utkanthita-bhava, and in
every way she is very attached to Sri
Krsna. Her seva is offering candana.
• Complexion – like color of lotus filament and
garments are red like jaba flower

parrots and she is also expert in the
pastimes of roosters.
