SS - Solo
Solo/Toggle the isolation of selected Bones, Shapes and Points - for faster / smarter editing
Category:
Vector Drawing
The SS Solo addon tool provides a quick one-click (or key) declutter of the canvas workspace and associated timeline animation keyframes. Isolating selected Bones, Shapes or Points by temporarily hiding their unselected counterparts.
This is great for “reworking” and “tweaking”, by removing unnecessary distractions and clutter in the workspace. The feature is crucial for focusing on specific elements when working in complex scenes and reduces the probability of accidentally or unintentionally selecting or adjusting the wrong scene element. Helping you to work with greater speed and precision whilst minimising any stress or frustration that might normally be associated with undertaking such editing tasks.
How to
Enable Solo mode (Soloing)
Simply select items (Bones, Points, or Shapes) on the canvas, and click the Solo button. Only the chosen elements will remain visible, quickly reducing complicated scenes to a small set of isolated items, which can then be more easily manipulated and transformed – before you return the scene to normal.
Not only does soloing isolate the elements on the canvas, but it also isolates the associated keyframes in the timeline by temporarily removing any keyframes associated with hidden elements. Again, decluttering the timeline and making keyframe observation, selection & manipulation much easier.
Note: The soloing of elements does not affect the rendered output.
Disable Solo mode (Restore)
To restore visibility of the other elements, simply click the Solo button with the remaining unhidden elements either all selected or all unselected (none selected).
Summary
Soloing allows you to quickly zero in on design items that you are focused on by temporarily hiding all non-designated items – and works with single or multiple selected items.
