I looked at my mom and I was just like, 'Mama, when this movie comes out, I'll be able to buy you a Mercedes.' I didn't grow up with a lot financially.

Bass grew up in a family that was not wealthy, and relied on food stamps and welfare. Upon finding out she would star in the Avatar films, Bass "cried her eyes out" and decided she would buy her mother a Mercedes car.[3]
Concept art of Tsireya
Early on, Tsireya was described as "the young Neytiri of the ocean", likely in reference to both their statuses as daughters of their respective clans' leaders. Bailey described her character as kind and warm and sees the best in people. She is usually the optimist in her family and tries to sympathize with people because you never know what someone is going through.
Bass is part of the 'next generation' cast starring alongside Filip Geljo and Duane Evans Jr., who play fellow young Metkayina members Aonung and Rotxo respectively.
