7.6.0 Preview 6 installer doesn't actually update preview 5 on macOS #26673

Prerequisites

Steps to reproduce

When I attempt to install preview 6 from powershell-7.6.0-preview.6-osx-arm64.pkg either via the installer command:

sudo installer -allowUntrusted -pkg /Users/jwelch/Downloads/powershell-7.6.0-preview.6-osx-arm64.pkg -target /

or via the GUI, the version still shows as preview 5

sudo installer -allowUntrusted -pkg /Users/jwelch/Downloads/powershell-7.6.0-preview.6-osx-arm64.pkg  -target / 
installer: Package name is powershell
installer: Upgrading at base path /
installer: The upgrade was successful.

 /usr/local/microsoft/powershell/7-preview/pwsh
PowerShell 7.6.0-preview.5

Expected behavior

Preview 6 is installed

Actual behavior

Preview 6 is not installed and i get the messages about preview 6 being available
