Why should be used instead? - sys.platform.startswith('linux') - os.uname()[0] == 'Linux' - platform.system() == 'Linux' - other? Tests like sys.platform in ('linux2', 'darwin') can be replaced by sys.platform in ('linux2', 'linux3', 'darwin'). We will have to patch this test again for Linux 4.
