Today, after my husband yelled at me for wasting money by getting my nails done, I decided to buy the supplies and watch YouTube to figure out how to do them myself. He then yelled at me for wasting money on the supplies. FML

Maybe you should sit down and have a talk with your husband about finances. What may seem like an overreaction could be him not knowing how to deal with the fact that money might be tighter than you realize..

it's context based isn't it. what if having her nails done is the only "frivolous" thing she spends money on, or she doesn't have any other hobbies, or she's a new mother and having them done makes her feel like a "real" human?

Or maybe he doesn't want her to spend money on it because they are on a tight budget. She also didn't tell us if she was working or not. So if she has no income and only his, that would make her situation even worse.

well op that door swings both ways...you know what to do if you catch him at one of his hobbies or indulging himself in any way. go get a pedicure next because it sounds like you deserve it.
